Using Title, Alt Image and Meta Tags For Seo Optimization
Without a doubt the title tag of your page is the single most important factor to consider when optimizing your web page for the search engines. The Title Tag is most important. Close behind are the Alt-Image tags and the Mega tags. We’ll get to that in a minute.
The title tag is the single most important piece of content for people who search. Keep it short: Don’t have more than 60 characters (with spaces), roughly 8-10 words. Lead with the most important keyword for that individual page. Begin with what is specific about the page and move to what is general. Many websites begin their title with their brand or organization name, and then follow with what is unique about the page. Don’t make this mistake.
Are there images on your site? This is another seo optimization tip that many people don’t realize.. By using your "alt" image attribute tag, you can slip in an extra keyword phrase or two that describes the picture users are about to see. The text only shows up when the user has turned off the 'view images' option in their browser or the image fails to load. But some search engine robots will pick it up too and the extra keywords could help your ranking. Take a minute or to do this important step and you will realize some improved results in the rankings.
Finally a word about Meta Tags. Your main keywords should be the first ones with the supplemental ones to follow. Don’t repeat your keywords.
The Meta Description tag is still worth including. Your most important keyword should be in there and again you need to work this keyword into an eye opening phrase or sentence. Don't just copy and paste the main keyword in there.
If the Meta Description tag is used well, in conjunction with the title tag, then it can make your displayed search result more inviting to the potential visitor. Again don't spend more than a few minutes on your Meta Description tag but do include it on each page. Finally - make the Meta Description for each page different; don't just recycle the same again and again.
The Title, Alt Image and Meta Tags are important elements of your optimized website!
