SUCCEED IN INTERNET MARKETING WITH MY 50-50 SOLUTION! by Kevin Sipe
|
Aren't we all looking for that magic bullet that will guarantee our success in internet marketing. Oh, if it were only that easy! Of course it is a bit easier nowadays then when I began because there are more people who pioneered their marketing strategies by trial and error. They are here to teach us.
Still, each person is an individual, and you must do it your way, with a little help from your friends. One thing is sure, you can't just put up a website and expect people to flock to your door. How many million websites are there anyway? I like to think of the way I do business as the 50-50 Solution.
The first 50 percent is meeting people either personally, on the phone and online. That's what I call belly to belly. I learned years ago, that people want to do business with somebody they know and trust. You can have the greatest product or system in the world, but if you don't come across as their friend trusted ally, they're not going to be your customer or client very long. It's sort of like the famous "golden rule" .So belly to belly still has a place in our fast-paced world of business. True, you can't meet everyone you'd like to meet in person, but you can build trust.
However, belly to belly is just 50 percent of the equation. The other 50 percent is internet marketing. Latest figures indicate that the majority of all people have and know about computers. You may think you know a lot, but it doesn't hurt to take a refresher course at your local community college to learn the latest in navigating and marketing on the internet. Then, be a sponge and soak up all you can about how other people are marketing their products and services. In this business you are always learning. I know I am.
Unfortunately, not everyone online is honest, so it is imperative to your success to beware of doing business with people where you have suspicions about their intentions. You wouldn't do business with a shady used car dealer, so if it appears that someone online is just out to make a fast buck at your expense, steer clear. That's the kind of reputation you want to avoid. It certainly is true that when you give a little more than people expect, your returns will be multiplied.
There's going to come a point in your marketing that you just can't do it all yourself anymore. That is a critical point, because now you are in sort of a vulnerable position. There are lots of people out there who will be your fair-weather friends or partners. As long as things are going well, they will be there. But if you have a down month or quarter, they just might bail on you. So when you hire somebody to help you in your business, like an accountant for example, insist on some references. Then, follow up on those references. That will pay huge dividends down the road, because everyone has a work history. If you see somebody that has jumped from job to job, chances are the pattern will be repeated when they come to work with you. I've had my bad experiences too, but for the most part I think my sixth sense worked for me and I have attracted some very positive people who have stuck with me even in trying times.
One other thing is that if you are afraid to take risks, you might reevaluate your wanting to be in a home based business. Working from home is not free from risks, and when you see an opportunity to grow there will be risks attached most of the time. One of the Yogi Berra funny lines is when you see a fork in the road, take it. Seriously, there will be times when taking that new fork in the road will lead you to a completely new way of thinking which will grow your business. You need to take risks, but not blindly of course. Do your due diligence on each new fork in the road, and if you feel right about it, take it. I've always had a gut feeling about new things and new people to work with, and frankly, most of the time my hunch was right.
Looking back, my 50-50 Solution has worked marvelously for me. That way of thinking and doing business has enabled me to have three homes in Florida, dream vacations, private schools for my kids, and freedome from financial stress. It all goes back to giving my customers something of value first. So think about my 50-50 solution: 50 percent the personal contact and 50 percent learning to market on the internet.
Combine them with class and you have a a winning program!
